2008 DoublEdge Race Recap
Biloxi, Mississippi (OSS)

breaking the choice propellers in testing the team was forced to go down in size. The log straightaways in Biloxi allowed

Lake Havasu, Arizona
(OSS / POPRA)
The amazing Desert Storm event was awesome with THOUSANDS of spectators attending this week long
event. The 111 team was the only out board team to make the long trek out west allowing the to take the uncontested win. Despite
running solo the team destroyed a motor trying to keep up with the cat lights.
Marathon, Florida Keys (SBI)
Jimmy
Speros joined Ryan in the cockpit in Marathon. A long day of testing left the team excited. The first lap of the race saw
the team bounce the boat on it's side for quite a distance. The wild ride left the team without one hatch and cowling as well
as playing catch up. The team was able to finish all 10 laps , but only in fourth place.
Sunny Isles Beach, Florida
(OSS)
South Florida brought some bumpy sea conditions. The team battled as best the could to muster a 3rd place finish
behind TnT & Miccosukee.

hometown race. They were running strong when a motor mount bolt broke taking them out of the race in fouth place.

Greers
Ferry Lake, Arkansas (OSS)
After Getting the Teams NEW 30' Skater two weeks before the race and rigging it, The team
went to Arkansas looking to make a strong showing and just put some time on the new boat. Testing went well, John and Ryan
were very happy and looking forward to race day. Come race day the team made the best shot at setup of the new boat. At the
start of the race the team obviously made the right choice as they led the cat outboard class flag to flag. They also led
the Super Vees for the first lap and a half. After a few laps a some gremlins began to strike, but the team was able to hang
on and keep there lead and win the first race in the new boat. DoublEdge / Carcredit123.com was able to take the win over
Bermuda Berry Cuda.
Pickwick, Tennessee , Pickwick, Tennessee (OSS)
Heading into Pickwick the 111 team again had
high expectations. Testing went well and everything was on track. When the race started 18 Bermuda Berry Cuda had the inside
lane on the start. Berry Cuda took the lead at the first pin and never looked back. By the end of the race Berry Cuda had
a 21 second lead and took the win with DoublEdge / CarCredit123.com coming in second.
Sarasota , Florida (SBI)
For
the home town race the 111 team welcomed Superior Asphalt Inc.net as our title sponsor. Phil's Site Prep, DNA Energy Drink, Gratton
Mortgage, Energy This.com, Mako Vodka, and Ref's Sports Bar all gave us support as well. Racing in the Superboat Stock class,
it was the teams first race with the new boat in rougher water. Looking for calmer conditions the team was a little behind
at the start in the class of 5 boats. Ryan and John were able to work there way up to 3rd place by the finish for another
podium finish.
Orange Beach, Alabama (OSS)
Back to beautiful Orange Beach with CarCredit411.com as the title sponsor and The Big Easy Sports Bar, of Orange Beach as
a secondary sponsor (Thanks Harry) A few teams made cameo appearances for this event and the rough water awaited them. 4-6
foot conditions on the west end of the course made this an exciting event. The CarCredit411.com team worked at it's set up
for the rough conditions on test day and came out swinging on race day. When the green flag went up the 111 team was in fourth
but managed to settle in to a rhythm in the rough waters and work there way into 3rd for another podium finish.
Lake
of the Ozarks, Missouri (OSS)

join the team. It was the National Championship race and with Paul's guiding expertise the team took another strong win leading
Bermuda BerryCuda for start to finish.

WORLD CUP
Ryan was joined by Allen
Campbell of Screamin' Eagle fame in the cockpit of CarCredit411.com for the Destin World Cup. Flat conditions led to very
fast racing. The two race series saw finishes of 2nd and 3rd for the CarCredit411.com team which put them in 2nd overall.
Very special thanks to Jimmy Speros for joining the team for the WORLDS events. Jimmy and accomplished
racer in his own right can be reached at www.MobileMercMan.com for all your marine service needs.
Also a big thanks to that Campbell's (Allen & LouAnne) for there
help and support at this event.
Key West, Florida (SBI/APBA/UIM)
World Championships
Joined by Fluid Sealing
Products (Screamin Nuts) of Texas as the title sponsor. Ryan was joined in the cockpit be former teammate Paul dePoo
of Key West. This was a 3 race series with 6 teams competing. The S-111 was joined by TnT custom marine, Bermuda BerryCuda,
Stihl, Miccosukee, & DVC. The conditions were much calmer than anyone planned on. 1-3 foot seas were similar on all
3 days of racing. The Fluid Sealing Products team had strong runs all week finishing all 3 days 4-5-4 for an overall finish
of 4th place. Proving that the 30' Skater is competitive with the bigger 32' boats was no small feat for this team with one
day of testing together.
Special thanks again to Jimmy Speros for his support in the double worlds endeavour and to
Fluid Sealing Products (Screamin Nuts) for there support as well.
